Iglesia Biblica de Plano

Iglesia Biblical de Plano

Plano Bible Chapel and Trinity Fellowship Church are partnering to plant a Spanish-speaking, culturally relevant Bible church serving the large and growing Hispanic population of East Plano. IBP currently shares the Plano Bible Chapel facility for Sunday morning services. IBP also provides periodic special evangelistic events, a food pantry, and weekly free ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. Child care is provided to allow more women to attend the classes. This ministry at PBC is coordinated by John and Barbara Sage.

Special 2nd Anniversary report IBP

Translated by John and Barbara Sage

Brothers and Sisters,

I hope that this brief history of our church helps you to remember how we have enjoyed the services and our times of fellowship.

Anniversary of the Iglesia Bíblica de Plano, (Plano Bible Chapel-Spanish)

January 27, 2008

The Plano Bible Chapel and the Trinity Fellowship Church work together in reaching the Spanish speakers for Christ.  They began in the Alta Vista Apartment complex.  They gave classes in English and shared the Gospel for three years.  During this time there was a small congregation formed.  In the summer of 2005, they invited your servants, (John and Barbara Sage) to work with the team already formed with Frank Carmical and Margo Gillory and a couple from the Seminary (DTS).

In the month of July we had a Bible School for the children and began services on Sunday evening in Alta Vista.  In September the English classes were moved to the facility of the church(PBC).

In 2006, we had our first service on January 22 in the youth building with forty three present.  Some were you.  Thank God for His faithfulness.  During this year some received Christ as their Salvador and Oscar, Esther, Maria Esther and Oscar, Jr. Nájera were baptized in October.

In the summer we worked with the youth of the English church   m  with the children of the Golden Leaf Apartment complex for four days.  This was a happy and joyful time with 63 children and 17 mothers.

In November we had a large family attending but they had to return to Mexico for their legal papers, (and they are still there).  We were sad not to see them.  But we were happy to see 77 people present at the Thanksgiving dinner.

For our first anniversary, January 2007, as a church we moved into the sanctuary.  We changed the time of the service to 1:00 p.m.  We thank God for the growth of the congregation and for two who were baptized on this day, Suzette and Karen Nájera.

We celebrated with an Easter breakfast with the English church and our service.

During the summer we went back to the apartments, Golden Leaf and Alta Vista for four days of Bible teaching, games and refreshments.  Also we had 15 of the children and teens (Spanish) who went to camp for a happy time of Bible study and games.

In October we worked with the English church in the Carnival.  The purpose was to reach the neighborhood with the Gospel.  Some came to us to talk about Christ and they received a Bible.  It was a special time with games and food.  One month later we celebrated Thanksgiving.

At Christmas, we had a film of the Christmas Story and it was well received.  Afterwards we enjoyed fellowship with a dinner and gifts.  Also the (sisters) women were invited to a special program with the English women. (Christmas Gala)  We also had a watch night service until midnight.

We have now come to another anniversary with much appreciation to our God.  He is with us, blessings us with spiritual blessings.  Thanks to Him for those who have come to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and are growing in the knowledge of the Word of God and are walking with Him.  Thanks to Him also for those who have been baptized.

In this year our prayers are:

That many others will come to know Christ as their Savior

That others will give testimony of their faith in baptism.  (Maybe you)

That couples will give testimony of their changed lives by marriage in the church

Our goals:

Invite another leader to work with us as an associate pastor and youth leader

That our young people will be able to return to camp

            That we will be faithful

Note:  This service was not announced as an anniversary, yet we had 54 in attendance.
