Youth Mission Recap
Our youth mission team returned today from a week of ministry with refugee children at Hidden Acres Christian Camp in Kaufman, TX. The 16 students were divided up into groups for the week, with many consisting of children of various ages and ethnicities. Most of each day was spent in the hot sun, but our students remained energetic and involved with the children throughout the activities!
During the week, the sight of our students with boys and girls from all over the world reminded me of how much the global church is becoming more diverse as refugees settle in countries foreign to them. Children and teenagers are often branded “the future of the church,” which I usually tweak by saying they are “the current and future church.” Watching our students love and encourage the refugee children has been a fantastic glimpse of what the church can be when these students are my age.
Thank you so much for your incredible support and prayers this past week! And join us for our Youth Mission Celebration on Sunday, August 27 at 12:30 pm in Fellowship Hall. We’ll have pictures, videos, and testimonies from our team.
