How Can We Help?

Seeing the devastation left behind by Hurricane Harvey has left many wondering what we can possibly do to help. With needs so staggering, where do we begin? As the psalmist writes, “In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I cried for help” (Psalm 18:6).

1) Pray. Intercede for those who have suffered the loss of loved ones and homes. Pray for the safety of those still in harm’s way. Pray that the Spirit of God would use this tragedy to draw people to the eternal hope of Jesus Christ.

2) Give. Many organizations are taking donations. See the links for some local opportunities to help.

3) Reach Out. If you have friends or family in the affected areas, encourage them personally and get their perspective on the most urgent needs.

While many of these needs are urgent, rebuilding will take time. We will provide updates as we hear of opportunities for us to mobilize help as a church.
