God Used Our Children to Bless Hurricane Victims

Trinity Fellowship Church and the Children’s Ministry quietly offered joy in suffering to some hurting kids recently. After lessons from 2 Corinthians 1 on comforting others, we gathered supplies, wrote notes, drew pictures, and mailed a small box of comfort to a church impacted by Hurricane Harvey in Nassau Bay, TX. As we packed, we wondered who would open each item.

This week we heard from those who helped deliver our box to children in need of comfort. Here are some highlights:

“Can I tell you what a sweet response your box of supplies you sent was to kids living in a hotel? We have been supplying meals to one hotel in the area and there are kids everywhere. We took the box of supplies to them last night and one of my Sunday School leaders handed them out to the kids and their families last night. She was thrilled to watch each kid’s face as they got something new. She gave out the notes that your kids wrote too. It brought much joy to many last night. THANK YOU so much for leading this charge with your kids’ ministry. What a blessing! Please tell your kids that God used them in a mighty way to be His Hands, His Feet, and His mouth to make an impact and difference in hurting kids. What joy your kids have brought to my heart too. May God bless you all greatly!”

We wanted our church body to know how God has used our children to be a blessing and comfort to others.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ESV)
