Gathering Around A Table

In the scriptures, gathering around a table was a life-giving extending of gospel hospitality, where the needs of the whole person, body and soul, were realized and Christ offered Himself as the living water and bread of life. When we gather around the Table in worship, we experience Christ’s love and life. And when we gather around a table in fellowship, we offer one another tastes of His life alive in us.

Many of us gathered last Wednesday night for such a meal. Thanks to Jean and Lina Divounguy and the Chicken Ladies for the wonderful African meal and opportunity to hear from ALARM founder Celestin Musekura about the necessity of training women leaders to strengthen the church in Africa.

Over the past several years at TFC, God has been at work giving us a sphere of influence in Africa, first in Tanzania, and now Rwanda through a partnership with ALARM, Inc. Six women from TFC are preparing to teach Bible Study and Interpretation and HIV/AIDS awareness to 55 women in a Women’s Leadership Training Institute in Rwanda this November. Please pray now for their preparation and support for travel expenses.

Coming soon, October 1, there will be two more important opportunities to gather around a table and share the love and life of Christ.

Women’s WLTI Brunch
Oct. 1, 9:30-11 am at TFC
Our Christmas brunch has moved from December to October this year so all can take part in the November WLTI trip to Rwanda. Meet the team of six TLC ladies going, bring sewing kits, and enjoy a great brunch. Watch for an evite coming soon with more details.

Men’s BBQ
Oct. 1, 6-9 pm at TFC
Men, sign up Sunday in Fellowship Hall or online [http://www.trinityfellowship.org/events/bbq/] to attend our Men’s Ministry BBQ. If you want to whip up a batch of your favorite BBQ, please sign up for that as well. It will be a great evening of fellowship, relaxation, discussion & great food.

Especially if you are new to our body, we welcome you to the table to get to know us and let us get to know you. All are invited—let’s eat, drink, and share our life in Christ together and then move outward to offer His life and remarkable love to others.
