Call To Prayer

This is a simple call to prayer for several important things for our church body, our mission, and our world.

ELDER’s RETREAT
The fall annual elder’s retreat begins this morning through tomorrow afternoon. We gather for prayer for the body and discernment for God’s leading for our spiritual growth and witness. Please take some time and intercede for us. Although the agenda is rather small, the topics are weighty. Pray for unity, humility, vulnerability, sensitivity, and courage. And remember that as is our most recent pattern, we have a Family Meeting scheduled for this coming Sunday during the Connection Hour to include updates from the retreat.

WOMEN’s RWANDA WLTI TRIP
The updates received from our team in Kigali have been so encouraging as God has moved in ways beyond what we could have imagined. Pray for the all the women gathered together from TFC and from across Rwanda in their final day, that with hearts renewed they might worship Christ with an even deeper love and serve His kingdom in their local churches with even greater purpose and conviction. Pray also for our ladies as they begin their long travel home tomorrow, that they might have comfort, smooth flights, and a swift re-acclimation to their homes.

OUR COUNTRY
You’ve probably heard way too much written before the election. And since the Tuesday results, the volume remains turned up to 11. With protests, and fears, and deeper divisions revealed, and false pride and hope always a temptation, remember that Scripture clearly calls followers of Jesus to pray for their leaders and submit to their authorities. Here’s a link to a nice little blog article from Ed Stetzer (via “Christianity Today”) with a few helpful and encouraging thoughts to consider, especially for evangelicals wrestling with embarrassment or a false-confidence. http://www.christianitytoday.com/edstetzer/2016/november/trumped-american-politics-turned-upside-down-what-now-for-e.html?utm_source=ctdirect-html&utm_medium=Newsletter&utm_term=9474698&utm_content=476588332&utm_campaign=email

Moving Together into the Remarkable Love of Jesus Christ,

Keith
